The “ACO 2016 - A Connected Ocean” Science Conference will be held on 11-13 October 2016 in Brest, France. The challenge for future ocean knowledge and data integration sets the stage for this conference. This conference, co-organized with EuroGOOS, is built around five thematic sessions and a workshop through which participants will explore new approaches, new technologies and new challenges for knowledge of ocean processes.
You may submit your abstracts for an oral or poster contribution until end of September 2016.
Each session will bring together experts in three scientific fields: physical and biogeochemical ocean processes; new technologies and sensors for ocean observations; applied mathematics, computer science and data processing.
Sessions will be organised in an oral sequence with invited talks and short contributed orals, and a poster session. Additionally, a few round tables will allow discussion of cross-cutting topics.
Below is a list of the five thematic sessions and a workshop.
- Session 0 (EuroGOOS workshop session): Marine Information Workshop for Industry: Showcasing publically available resources to support innovation
- Session 1: New autonomous approaches to the measurement of biogeochemical rates
- Session 2: Interoperability standards for the marine environment
- Session 3: Multimodal synergies in ocean studies
- Session 4: Big Data infrastructure and analytics in ocean science
- Session 5: Integrated observations of upwelling systems
